Вашему вниманию предлагается проект систематизации учетных данных и документов о погибших воинах во Второй Мировой войне и последующих конфликтах.

Offered to your attention, this project is an attempt to systemize data and available documents retarding fallen soldiers during World War II and more recent conflicts.

Основная цель проекта – дать возможность миллионам граждан установить судьбу или найти информацию о своих погибших или пропавших без вести родных и близких, определить место их захоронения. В рамках проекта уже отсканировано и предоставлено в Интернет-доступ около 9,8 миллионов листов архивных документови свыше 30 тыс. паспортов воинских захоронений. Впервые Вы сможете ознакомиться с реальными документами, самостоятельно провести поиск и исследование.

Main project's objective is to provide millions of people with an opportunity to learn the fate, find the facts and determine burial sites for and about their relatives who didn't come back home, died or disappeared. Within this project, already 9.8 million pages of archive material has been scanned, and more than 30 thousand recorded burial places processed. This is the first time in Russian archival history that you will be able to see these documents and perform needed research on your own.

Основной массив документов – это донесения о потерях, различные документы и справки о погибших и пропавших без вести, а также описания и списки захоронений советских солдат и офицеров.

Main cluster of the documents -- are the reports about losses, various documents and receipts about perished and lost soldiers and officers, descriptions and lists for known burial sites and cemeteries.

Работа по проекту спланирована на 2006-2008 годы.

Project is expected to be completed within 2006-2008

Начинается второй этап работ: уточнение информации по конкретным персоналиям, объединение записей, относящихся к одному лицу.

Right now we are about to start the second stage, clean and put in order collected information, and unite records related to the same person.
